Blue Skies® Private Air Safari The Aircraft We Use Our premier touring aircraft is the the Beechcraft King Air, which is a jet turbine aircraft allowing us to cruise like an airliner but still get into those out of the way dirt airstrips. That's why the Royal Flying Doctor Service has used King Airs to service the needs of the remote Australian Outback for years. The King Air we use is the only one of its type in Australia and is appointed with a beautiful leather upholstered interior. Our aircraft and pilot will stay with us for the entire tour and it is always possible to add a bit of flexibility to the trip. For instance if it's a beautiful day we may drop into Byron Bay for lunch as we pass by. The pilots who are authorised to fly the King Air we use, must take specialist bi-annual refresher training in the United States before they are able to fly a Blue Skies Private Air Safari in the King Air. Below is a photo just after arrival at Toumbaal Plains - I think every body's at the beach!
