We run our own comfortable ship-based tours in Antarctica. With small groups we
enjoy maximum time ashoreThe Best

flexible itineraries and our eye for exploration.

South
Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula
22 Day Trip, 19 Day Voyage
This journey combines the beauty of the Falklands, South Georgia
and the South Orkney Islands with the drama of the Northern Antarctic Peninsular.
Mention South Georgia to any experienced Antarctica traveller and
watch their eyes brighten with delight. The Northern flanks of the island are a series of
harbours that once sheltered large fleets of whaling ships. These harbours are now home to
a staggering profusion of wildlife.
In Stomness, Leith and Grytviken Harbours the well preserved
remains of huge whaling factories sit quietly at the base of 3000 metre mountains. No
voyage to South Georgia would be complete with a pilgrimage to the grave of Ernest
Shackleton. |

Across
The Antarctic Circle
15 Day Trip, 12 Day Voyage
Following the enormous success of our previous Climbers and
Photographers Expeditions, this summer we will venture further south, crossing the
Antarctic Circle and entering magnificent Crystal Sound, if ice conditions allow. Our
objectives are to trek up small peaks; to make first ascents of peaks on the western flank
of the Transantarctic Mountains; to allow photographers time for detailed shooting; and to
give adventures a change to enjoy the natural splendour of the Antarctic. The ship is our
floating base.
You don't need to be a climber of photographer to join this trip. |
Voyages
To The Antarctic Peninsula
15 Day Trip, 11 Day Voyage
When the mountains reach the sea along the Antarctic Peninsula
they discharge huge glaciers into narrow fjords and sheltered bays. This area, the
prettiest part of Antarctica, provides a haven for the greatest concentration of wildlife
on this continent. The Peninsula is the most accessible part of the Antarctic continent,
being just two days cruising from the Argentinian port of Ushuaia. |

The
Professor Molchanov
The Professor Molchanov was built in Finland in 1983 as an ice
strengthened research ship. In 1996 she was refurbished in Holland to provide comfortable
accommodation for 48 passengers. She has a combined lounge/bar area with a library well
stacked with polar books. Strength, manoeuvrability and the small number of cabins gives
this class of vessel a fine reputation for polar expedition cruising.
The chefs are Australian or European and the dining room is
attended by Russian stewardesses. |
These polar
expeditions are adventure trips and you would be travelling in an unpredictable climate in
remote locations. You must review in detail the conditions in the Aurora Expeditions
brochure. For full details contact Blue Skies.
