Tropical North ROSE GUMS Rainforest Retreat in Queensland Jon and Peta Nott have created a delightful private retreat perched on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range, with spectacular views across the rainforest towards Queensland’s highest peaks. Set amongst 230 acres of rainforest and eucalypt forest on the edge of the World Heritage area, Rose Gums provides a sanctuary amongst the sights and sounds of the tropical rainforest. With the care of true conservationists, Jon and Peta have restored the native vegetation on the property and with it has come a profusion of birdlife and many of the forest’s mammals. hour on the banks of Hosts: Jon & Peta Nott Accommodation / Meals: There are four pole and timber chalets, each with a private living area and balcony with views to the ranges, a kitchen, spa bathroom with separate shower. Birdwatching – over 160 species recorded (have an evening sundowner and watch the Sarus Cranes flying in). A resident cassowary is a rare sighting. Wildlife viewing - pademelons, possums, platypus and tree kangaroos. Walking tracks in Wooroonooran National Park. The Atherton Tablelands played host to Queensland’s early settlement and the region is full of these historic reminders, best enjoyed with the knowledge of a local guide.
